London love

King's Cross Station underwent a major facelift in 2013 and the results truly are gawk-worthy - in a good way of course. Unsurprisingly, the area surrounding the station has been on the up and up as well - most notably Granary Square just behind the station. The Old Granary, which is now home to the arts college Central Saint Martins, is a striking warehouse situated along the canal. By day it's a lovely place to relax with a coffee (Caravan does a killer takeaway), watch the boats go by or on a hot day, run wild and half naked through the fountains. Let me clarify, that's really only acceptable if you are under the age of 5 (kids get to have all the fun)! At night, you've got Caravan, The Grain Store or Shrimpy's just next door in the old filling station for dinner and drinks. Make sure to pause at some point along your little bar crawl to enjoy the fountains, which each evening put on a choreographed light show. It's a real joy to find such a characterful space being so well utilised.  I know where I'll be Saturday's this summer. Where is your favourite spot to while away a sunny afternoon? KKxx
