Yesterday marked the end of London Fashion Weekend at Somerset House. It was a fabulous event; room after room of beautiful designer clothing, champagne and coffee bars, hair and makeup stalls, lectures and of course, a runway show. My only complaint would be that the runway show felt very short. I spent more time watching sponsored advertising than I did watching the clothes make their way down the runway. The pieces and models did look great however and they touched on some of the upcoming season's biggest trends; heavy metals, bold lace, florals and sports luxe. I also learned that my iPhone is not up to the task of capturing moving objects - every shot was so blurry. I think it justifies a fancy new camera purchase, don't you? To top off a lovely afternoon, I left with a tote bag designed by British designer Julien Macdonald which included a few goodies - best of which was a sample of Maybelline's Baby Lips lip moisturizer (uber shine and SPF 20) and an all natural cereal bar from Brazilian brand Beauty'in which, surprisingly, tastes fantastic and is rich in vitamins and even collagen! My skin feels tighter already (easily swayed by marketing). The bars are available online at Harvey Nichols.
Next stop, The Vogue Festival!
