We are over a month into glove-wearing-season and I still don't have a pair - well, I have a pair of cheap fingerless gloves from Primark that are over two years old (and make me feel like a badass), but these really should be retired. I'm looking for a lady-like pair of leather or suede gloves - which are everywhere at the moment - that will transition well from day to night. Although each shop has a take on the trend, it's rather difficult to find the right pair. A lot of gloves in this style are made one-size to fit all, which is really rather silly, so the fingers are often too long or too wide. Below are the ones I've found that have fit my long lanky fingers perfectly.
The top pair, from & Other Stories, are a suede/leather combo lined with a soft, delicate fabric. They fit, well, like a glove. Perfect. The fingers weren't too long and they fit snugly, no un-wanted bagginess. In fact, & Other Stories had a fantastic range of leather gloves all in quality material and an elegant cut.
Then there are the orange suede gloves from H&M. They feel amazing and the burnt hue is beautiful. They run midway up my forearm so would look killer peaking out from under a black or camel cape.
The bottom pair, which are more casual and lined with wool, were the warmest of the three. Probably best for day to day wear in cold, rainy London.
I think leather or suede gloves are a tricky purchase to make online - you really need to get in store and try them on. All of my picks were under £40 - a worthwhile spend for something that will get so much use. What style gloves are you rocking this year? KKxx
